About Me

Building on the web,
one line at a time.

📍Tagum City, Davao del Norte, Philippines✉️cairel.chestervonned@gmail.com📞09063195296🎓B.S. Computer Science, SMCTI — May 2024

I'm Chester Vonne Dela Cruz Cairel, a Computer Science graduate from St. Mary's College of Tagum Inc. building toward my first full-time software role. My strongest work so far sits in full-stack web apps: interfaces in React and Next.js, backend logic in Node.js and Express, database work with PostgreSQL and Supabase, plus live deployments on Vercel and Render. I'm open to entry-level frontend, backend, or full-stack roles, but my current body of work points most clearly to junior full-stack development.

Right now I work as IT Staff, Helpdesk & Support at SIBS Contact Center in Tagum City. That job gave me production discipline: solving issues under pressure, supporting real users, keeping systems online, and tracing problems across devices, network layers, access controls, and day-to-day operations. It is not the same as software engineering, but it gave me a strong troubleshooting instinct and a practical bias toward building things that work reliably in the real world.

Before that, I did my OJT at Nuevasoltech Co. Inc. through SMCTI's internship program. I worked on real client deliverables: Facebook cover photos and social card postcards for Tagum City festival campaigns following Facebook's pixel dimensions, mobile app icon assets, and presentation materials. That's where I picked up the design eye I still use when building UIs.

I also helped build ERKADO with three classmates as our capstone project. It's a mobile app for crop trading in Tagum City, built to give farmers fairer deals. I contributed to implementation support, testing, thesis writing, user manual documentation, and presentation materials. The project got recognized at two conferences in 2024 and picked up five awards between SMCTI and MCITS.

My projects are where that direction is clearest. ServiceFlow V2 is a rebuilt service request platform with audit trails, request comment threads, email notifications, reports, and role-based access. Portfolio v2 is this Next.js rebuild with typed content, motion-heavy UI, blog support, and API integrations. Project ALICE pushes further into Python, speech tooling, automation, and AI integrations. Together they show that I can work across frontend, backend, databases, and deployment.

Outside of work I keep shipping and iterating. I like the full range of software work: designing interfaces, wiring up APIs, shaping schemas, integrating auth, and getting the final product deployed. I'm now looking for an entry-level role where I can keep growing fast and contribute across the stack.

Beyond the Code

I've been taking apart and building computers since before I could code, and that's honestly where my debugging instinct comes from. I also am a big gamer at heart and have been since I was a kid, which is where I first got interested in how software works.
